As you guys know, I love a good bake sale but 300 cupcakes, 400 cookies and an array of slices a few times a year as well as the usual weekly cooking will make a real mess of your oven. Especially when I’m pretty sure that no one has ever cleaned it before. We moved into our new place about 6 months ago and the last tenant had left the kitchen in a pretty shocking state. I cleaned everything back to new myself except the oven and so was absolutely thrilled when I was contacted by Oven Express to see if I would like to try out their service.
I was very excited to learn that Oven Express are an Australian family owned business based in Sydney. I think it is so important to support our own in Australia and what better way than with a service that I now cannot live without.
From the moment that our lovely service man arrived, he was friendly, very courteous of our home, and a pleasure to have in my kitchen for the hour. I loved that the racks were cleaned in his van and not in my kitchen as my sink is inconveniently small. They were cleaned back to new and even the little rusted patches that I have tried everything on were gone.
I had all of these stains on the glass door that I could not get off no matter how hard I scrubbed and how many chemicals I used. There was this one smudge that was really bugging me and I couldn’t believe that he got rid of it completely. The internals of the oven were hand scrubbed with no spraying of chemicals like I am used to from regular oven cleaning services so there was no lingering smell left through the house. It was a great test on my own mild asthma!
The cleaning agents that they use are biodegradable, fume free and non-toxic. They really make a difference and I didn’t feel bad about the environment for a second! *warm and fuzzies*
My biggest concern with having the oven cleaned by another service was that Flatpac and Archie would be breathing in the fumes . . . I suppose we would have been too. Ah, priorities. I could not believe how little smell there was with this cleaning process and then straight after, I baked a cake with no evidence that the oven had been thoroughly cleaned just an hour before. Don’t worry guys, I tested the cake to make sure that there was nothing wrong with it. A few times. . . just to be sure.
Archie didn’t seem concerned at all with our visitor –
There was no mess left on my kitchen floor after the clean was finished and I am pretty sure that the oven was cleaner than when it was first installed. I had a lot of fun trying to take a picture of the front of the oven without my reflection in it. It was like a mirror! Maybe I could start using it for selfies?
I would not hesitate for a moment to pass on Oven Express’s details to my friends, family and you guys!
This was a free service but my opinions are my own.
