I have been feeling a bit lethargic, anxious and had trouble sleeping lately and I thought I would give it a try. What have I got to loose? I worked it in when Tyler was away for work so I wouldn’t have to cook him dinner or be tempted by food around me. This is my best tip for this diet – avoid distraction. It didn’t help that I work in a kitchen and will spent the majority of the week baking cookies, bread and cakes. Being a vegetarian, I am told that I do not need to detox like meat eaters do, but honestly with the amount of cheese I eat. . . Maybe it’s a good idea! I am writing this log daily so you can see how I was feeling at each part of the diet. Wish me luck!
Day 1
9:00am - Feeling tired after a crap night sleep. Tyler wasn’t home and I was convinced that someone was trying to get into my house. LOL. I have made up the first shake. Initial thoughts are, wow ’Do you like Pina Coladas? something something rain’. It is quite thick once you add the water, like something from Boost juice.
12:00pm – Eye has started to twitch. Hungry. . . need coffee. Get a hold of yourself woman!! I have progressed onto my 2nd shake and am fighting through the lunch cravings. But seriously, if someone put a toastie in front of me right now, I’de eat it. Feeling distracted and keep walking out of a room looking for something but then forget what it was.
12:30pm – Green tea. Nom.
1:00pm – Having trouble stomaching the shake. Tummy hurts and will to eat bread is getting far stronger than hate for fat thighs. Fantisizing about breakfast on Thursday.
1:30pm – Ate sandwich. It was delicious. Hung up my detox suit. Possible New Years Resolution of will power.
I think you should know. . .
- Sip the shakes slowly! Everytime you feel that hunger pang, have a sip and chase it with ice cold water so you don’t get too sick of that taste!
- I don’t really like the mix of coconut and pineapple so I wasn’t thrilled about the flavour but the way it filled me up was great!
- Make sure it’s cold! I left mine in a bottle and then put the bottle into a jug of iced water. To make it a bit more appetising, put it in a glass with a straw.
- I highly doubt it will make you look like the lady on the bottle… unless you already look that way.

lol I know exactly how you feel! I’ve tried a detox diet for just a day and didn’t even last. The drink was a cayenne and lemon juice thing and it was revolting after the second glass. You lasted much longer than me lol.
That one sounds even harder! I’m just going to cop out and eat healthy
Good on you for giving it a try. I don’t think I could stomach it. I hate replacing meals with juices and I know everyone is getting into the drinking coconut water thing but I just don’t like the taste of it xx
It was pretty gross. Love the idea though…
i did a detox 14 day thing and it was tough. good on you for giving this one a go and good look cass. happy new year x
I wish I could have stuck it out for longer Meg.. I just don’t have that kind of will power over food!
I have never looked like the lady on the bottle and you know, I’m totally cool with that. Coconut and pineapple–not sure about that. The sandwich looks good
Me neither. Oh well.
That is very funny! Maybe it would have been better with rum! Nice sandwich!!
LOL thanks Nomes. I had a professional make it for me
This is one of the best posts I have ever read! I am literally crying with laughter! fair play to you I wouldn’t have got past 10 on that detox!
Thanks Jenny! I didn’t think it was that funny until everyone said it
Sounds vile. Would they let you add rum to it? I could do rummy off-tasting pina colada mix for two days no problem
If you could I think more people would detox
You know that the large coconut on the front of the bottle is actually hiding a massive fat stomach!!
Yuumyy!
awww… that was a good try. It fun to do something to test how much of something we can do. It is more a test of will power than anything else.
great going though.
Thanks Anita, I think I may have needed a bit more moral support!
I can’t say that I’ve ever been on one …you are so brave! =)
Brave until 1pm! At least I know that I have no will power now
My best to you my friend, you are very brave
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
Thanks Uru, maybe I’ll have better luck next time!
I doubt I’d last even a day! I would just resolve to eat more vegetables and tofu.
I really can’t get into tofu Mich, I don’t know why. I should love it as a veggie! More carrots
I’ve never done a detox, but eating healthy can be fun and delicious…in moderation. I guess the plan is to eat healthy once a week, then when that feels normal, make that twice a week. Keep turning it up until you eat healthy most of the time. No one likes a food nazi so always allow yourself some indulgences.
It is just when I tell myself I’m not going to eat naughty, it’s all i want!
Ha, I’m thinking about doing a detox this weekend actually! Hopefully I will last at least a day.
Good luck Leaf. Tyler and I have started those foot detox patches. Hilarious!
I thought I’d heard of just about every detox known to man, but I hadn’t heard of this one till now…interesting! (Definitely tastier sounding than the last one I heard someone using – vinegar! ick!)
Oh yuck! Maybe that’s the one with cayenne? I can’t not eat!
Ive just started the detox and am 6 hours in so far. Im not a huge fan of coconut however the tropic flavor is actually quite nice. I’ve tried more natural detoxes in the past and had some success with them so fingers crossed
Good luck Ember! You have already lasted longer than me
